To achieve the best healing outcomes, it is recommended to visit a piercing studio within 1-3 months or 1-4 weeks for all types of septum, lip, oral, or genital piercings. During this time frame, our skilled piercers will closely examine the jewelry and closely monitor the healing process. If you have any questions or uncertainties, you can always consult with your piercer about altering jewelry tops or ends, or request a review of the proper aftercare techniques that should be followed.
It is advisable to seek guidance from your workplace, school, or sports institution before getting pierced to determine if there are any restrictions on wearing piercings or if you will need to conceal or remove them temporarily.
Please refrain from touching any piercings or your jewelry while in the studio, as this can spread harmful bacteria and biohazards to others.
Oral Piercing Aftercare
Use alcohol-free mouthwash to rinse your mouth in the morning, before bed, and after consuming anything besides water. Additionally, clean your lips and the inside of your mouth in the same way you would for any oral piercings.
The cleanliness of the outside of a lip piercing should be maintained by following the instructions provided in the body piercing aftercare section, which recommends cleaning it with Neilmed Fine Mist Piercing Aftercare solution 3 to 5 times daily.
To ensure optimal healing and prevent damage to your oral/lip jewelry due to biting, it might be necessary to replace it before the piercing has fully healed. Seeking guidance from your body piercer regarding any necessary adjustments is crucial.
